-
- Please note that Electronic Cow cannot be held responsible for
- any loss or damage to your system that occurs during the
- use/misuse of this program. But hey, it works - the moral is don't
- tamper with it, otherwise it won't! Apart from this, we'll be really
- fed up if people start to metaphorically graffitti all over our work,
- so please don't meddle with it - just play nicely!
-
- *Note that in order to play back audio you must have either an
- STE/TT or a Falcon, else there's no sound. Sorry!
-
- Instructions for use:
- Samplayer is a small utility for loading and playing *.AVR
- samples. Oh yes, it's not an original concept, but Samplayer does
- look nice (there's four different waveform draw modes), supports
- 16-bit playback on the Falcon (8-bit on the STE/TT), and also has a
- MIDI sample dump feature.
-
- To load a sample, press the disk button or choose Open in the File
- menu. Only mono *.AVR samples can be loaded, but these can be
- of any bit depth and frequency (later versions might support other
- formats or stereo files - stay tuned!).
-
- To play a sample press the play button or press [return] on the
- keyboard.
-
- If you have a MIDI sample dump standard compatible MIDI
- sampler (most modern samplers and workstations such as the
- Kurzweil K2000 support this protocol), then you can dump the
- *.AVR sample to it via MIDI. Samplayer doesn't need a closed loop
- system, so you'll only need one cable attached from the Atari's
- MIDI out, to the sampler's MIDI in. Press the MIDI button and a
- dialogue appears; choose the MIDI channel and sample number.
- Ssome samplers don't need the sample number (inserting each
- new sample into memory sequentially) so just leave it as 1; others
- will overwrite sample data, so here it'll be important to increment
- the sample number after each dump. Press the 'Dump it!' button
- to send the sample (a progress bar and counter will keep you
- appraised of the time to go...).
-
- And that's it! We hope that you like our software; other freeware
- titles are available for downloading from our WWW page; other
- commercial titles are also available. Please contact Electronic
